Located at the Kahutia Bowling Club at 165 Cobden Road, Gisborne NZ, we are the first Pétanque Club in the world to see the light of the new day.


Covid Update.

As from 11:59pm on 2nd December 2021, everybody (over the age of 12 years and 3 months) will be required to carry their valid “My Vaccine Pass” before being allowed to enter the Kahutia Bowling Club Complex. This includes the buildings and the outside grounds where the Gisborne Pétanque Club terrain is located.

Season: 2021 – 2022

Membership fees as at 25th January 2022 are:

Adults: $30 per year

Students: $10 per year

This membership entitles Gisborne Pétanque Club Members to socialize with other Kahutia Bowling Club members in the clubhouse and bar (subject to age) areas, play pool, darts, use the dining facilities including the BBQ and also the Pétanque terrain at the Kahutia Bowling Club Complex. However, it does not include playing Lawn Bowls!

The Pétanque lanes are available for use when the club building is open. If you do not have your own Boules, club ones are available for you to use.

Club Days

These are held on the second Sunday morning of each month, starting at 9:30am. Mini-tournament, ….. and a fun time are all part of the Club Day. Open to all Gisborne Pétanque Club members.

Playing Area

Our playing area is bordered by wooden sleepers and is normally set to provide 5 lanes. However, it can be quickly adjusted to provide 4 international standard lanes.
